There are many people in the Cat Fancy who have made it clear that the Almanac is desirable.  Even more to the point; essential for those who do not have access or desire to use a computer. 
 
How do we address the needs of the Fancy in a financially sustainable manner?   What factors contributed to the declining circulation, and ultimate discontinuation, of the past print version?.  There were several factors, but one of the primary reasons is that the magazine was not current.  In the age of the Internet and its ability to speed information to the end user, a printed offering must have an added benefit unique to the offer since it cannot compete with the Internet on speed.  Portability is one unique feature; articles in the print version that are not online could be another feature.    
 
So let’s talk about content.   What does the Fancy really want in a printed version of the Almanac?

            Current Points – National/Regional/Breed
EDUCATION:
            News about breeds
            Interesting tips about showing similar to Donna Andrews’ articles
COMMUNICATION:
            Updates from the CFA Board

I Am Committed to CFA

I am a breeder, an exhibitor, and a new CFA Judge.  I have seen our challenges from both sides of the table. I understand.  You know that. . .

What you may not know is that I have sat in the Board Room of the American Kennel Club in both New York and Raleigh representing CFA.  I have also sat in the conference room of 4 Kids Entertainment conducting the business of CFA.  I have represented CFA at IAMS to ensure that relationship is cultivated.  I chair the Contract Review Committee and along with its members ensure CFA is properly protected and that the language of the contracts is favorable to CFA. In addition, I do know our organization.  I understand our opportunities – I know where we have been and I can see where we can go from here.  Together let’s make it happen!

Together we can make sure we have the right structure to operate properly.  Together we can make sure we are in the right place to do our business.  Together we can make sure we are all have a voice. Together we can leverage our size to benefit our clubs.

Let’s be fast,  focused,  and fully engaged!

Over the last 10 years I have worked with over 30 different Board Members, two Presidents, two Executive Directors.  I have chaired many committees and understand the organization. I have not only attended over 30 Board Meetings in their entirety actively participating and engaged, I have also addressed you at 10 annuals and been completely open and honest.

I have served as Treasurer for the International Shows, the show in Madison Square Garden, and worked closely with our fabulous breed councils on “Meet the Breeds”.  I have spent days, nights, vacation – working for the organization I love.  I am completely committed to the success of  The  Cat  Fanciers’  Association.
